A New Member of the Family

My daughter is so excited about getting a dog. The thought of getting a new member in the family subtracted her loneliness that she will be away from her friends here. This is one condition that we approved and agreed upon moving to another house. To have a dog is like getting a new member is the family. Our neighbor has a lab. My very close friend Gen has a mixed poodle. We are looking for Labradoodle Breeders here in New jersey or in Maryland where our next house is. I think this mixed breed pet is pretty amazing since they came from two good kind of dogs. They are hypoallergenic, smart and kid-friendly. Now I'm beginning to get excited about the thought of having one too because I'd rather have a dog than a stubborn human.

Busy Weekend

I work for the whole weekend in the store successively for 8 hours each day. I don't like it but I do need the money for survival so there is no need to murmur about it. I had hubby baby sit the kids and watch the painters at home via webcam. Hi tech! Last Saturday Gen invited us to dinner to her house so I didn't need to cook. She made some burger patties for the kids and tossed salad and chuck steak for us. We had a chit chat after dinner while the kids played with Chumpy her dog. We talked about life and my frustrations with my brothers and sisters. Gen is a good listener. I was so full and tired. When I went home I slept right away. Thank you Gen! Gen has become my bosom buddy. Last night I decided to call her so we can eat out instead of making food. I did not know that was on her mind too so she agreed. We went to Champs since I got a $10 gift card. Then we went to Wawa to have the car refueled...this happened to be my first time to go and have the car fueled since hubby does this chore all the time. Thanks Gen for being there to support me, at least having you around I did not feel too nervous and scared to do things on my own. Hubby always believe that I would survive in moments like this. A friendship like ours will be treasured forever. I will surely miss you when I move to Maryland.

First Snowman Ever...

The kids did not have class yesterday. Last night it was announced that there will be no class again for today. There was too much mess on the road and it is to dangerous for the kids to go. I made some macaroons and embutido last night. I'm glad my kids loved it.
I woke up late today since I slept late last night. The kids played in the snow outside with some other kids. I have to drag myself with them. Then we made a big snowman in front of the house. There was more than enough snow to make a big one. James said this was the first snowman we built successfully ever.;-) I think he liked the outcome of our team effort. It was awesome but the crazy thing is I misplaced my camera. I have been cleaning the house and forgot where I placed my camera. I hope I can take a pic of it before it melts away.

Toy Shopping

Although it was a little cold and rainy today I went to work for a couple of hours. I did not know I was the first cashier to go on duty. I am glad that hubby dropped and picked me up from work so I don't have to feel dreadful about driving in the rain. After my work we drove to toys r us to get some toys for the kids. I noticed a lot of people buying some toys. Hmmm, looks like a Christmas rush to me.;-) I got James a big imaginetext dinosaur that was on sale. It used to be a hundred plus and are on sale for 88 bucks. On sale? Why not?;-) I also got him a small dino that wil move if you touch it. He would surely love the stuff we bought him. He is into collecting dinos these day I notice. He told me that we can actually get anything for him for Christmas. I think he understands better that it's all up to dad so he is not demanding anything. We also got Heaven a baby alive toy. The kids are so lucky these days. Most of their toys are interactive unlike the days when I was growing up, I have to create something to play with. I will be busy wrapping the gifts for them tomorrow while they are in school. Hubby is so nice to spoil the kids by getting them some expensive toys once in a while.

Tis the Season...

I am starting to shop for some gifts for my kids and for some of their friends. Yay...;-) I am hiding them in my trunk. When the kids will be out for school I will be wrapping them. They will be in the house for the weekend so I guess I got to hide these stuff in the garage. Hehe... I'm sure they will really be happy no matter how simple my gifts are. At any rate the essence of the season is giving no matter wha's in it,right?'-)

Official Driver

Last Tuesday stepson asked me to drive him to Walmart so he can get 2 1 1/2 binders required for school. He said he also needed soda because he ran out (it is some sort of his energy drink) so I drove him there since hubby is out of town for work. Then yesterday, Wednesday he called me up and told me he needed a ride from his girlfriend's house. Are you kidding me? He was able to get there and he can't get home? He seemed to be designating me as his official driver. Grr. I told him I have to think about it....I usually don't have courage to drive some place far but oh well for hubby's sake I will have to get stepson. I went to his girlfriend's house then he told me he had to eat dinner and I should get him later. Whaaattt? No way! I called up hubby and ranted. No way I'm gonna go back to fetch him. It's either he ask a ride from them or he walk home. His dad said he should walk home. My oh my I did my duty but he wont go with me. Kids when they are a bit grown up always think they have mind of their own. I went home and did not fetch him. I did my part already.

A Conversation With Kids

I thought this conversation is cute and funny.

Me: Alright kids time to go to sleep. Sleep early so you can wake up early, you have school tomorrow.

Heaven: I hate school. Why do we need to go to school?

James: Yeah! Me too!

Me: You need to go to school so that you will learn things. When you grow up you will be what you want to be. What do you want to be when you grow up Heaven?

Heaven: I want to be a teacher.

Me: How about you James?

James: I want to be a doctor.

Me: You will never be somebody if you don't have education. Doctors, teachers, lawyers never became professionals just by accident.

James: What's a lawyer?

Me: Someone who gives legal advice to clients to represent them in court.

James: Mom, whose the guy that holds a mallet?

Me: He's the judge. He decides in the court of law. Why?

James: I don't want to become a lawyer, I want to be a judge.

Me: That's why you need to study hard and do your best all the time.

Busy Days...

The kids had their first day in school yesterday Tuesday. I was also called up for an orientation in a part time job I applied for in one store around here. The pay is not much but well in this current times its better to get something than sit on your butt doing nothing. I'm done with getting bored with life. I will be doing this job in between my substitute teaching. I will not be working in the store in some days I felt I will be called to substitute. In the next two weeks I will be in training. I'm excited about it. A little bit of this and that at least will help me augment the family's income. I hope I will do good in this job.

Malling

Have you tried going to the mall with no plans of buying anything? I bet its hard since it's so tempting to buy something with all the stores you find in it. We went to Cherry Hill Mall yesterday. It's been a long time since I last went to the mall. I wanted to just go visit Cherry Hill Mall not minding on what to buy. The outside layout of the mall looked funny to me because I thought the stores are all separate. Oh well how come you call i a mall if they're all separate. Yesterday when I told my hubby tha I want6 to go malling he instantly agreed about it. I was so happy and excited.
As we were walking around the mall we saw the Disney store. The kids wanted to check what's in it. James found something that he wanted to buy which was beyond the amount he was allowed. He threw fits on us as we walk around the mall. We ended up buying him a toy in Toys R Us. We bought an sms toy that they send and receive message around the house. I think it was my fault since I did not tell them that my purpose in going to the mall is just to roam around and not buy anything. The next time around I should be telling them about it before we go.
I bought some strawberry shake and chocolate ice cream at DQ's. Hubby bought some pepperoni pretzels at Aunt Anne's. Boy it was so good I almost forgot my name. Lol. Hubby was amazed of how much I loved the pretzels since I'm not a fan of american food yet I liked it so much that I vowed to buy some again.

Watch TV Online For Free

When I saw these words written somewhere on the net Spreety TV Online : Watch TV Shows Online Free I got so excited because I can now watch TV online for free using my computer wherever I would go. Not only that as a mom of two children, I know how signifiant television is for kids. They love to watch a lot of cartoons. They were able to learn English as language thanks to the TV. Now we don't have to stay in the living room to watch TV on the tube. The internet for sure has helped us get informed well. I can be able to bring my kids along with me to medical or dental appointments without having them get bored of waiting because they can now watch TV with my laptop. Furthermore, they won't miss any of their favorite TV shows.

How Was Your Weekend?

The official start of summer is here. We grilled some chicken and burgers. The kids enjoyed going to the pool. They went to the pool twice within the weekend. Hubby accompanied them last Saturday then I went with them yesterday. I brought along my word search book to while away my time as I watch the kids swimming. It was the first time I saw an ice cream vendor in a mobile here. I thought it only existed in the Philippines.Lol. The van chimed a musical tone and some kids got excited and bought ice cream. I really did not bring some cash with me because who would have thought there is something for sale on the street? Poor kids just looked at the ice cream vendor. I think we stayed there for a couple of hours. They really had fun.

Mother's Day Presentation

The rain poured heavily today but it did not stop me from going to my son's school for their special mother's day presentation. At first I was a little bit nervous because I have never tried driving in aheavy downpour of rain. The thought of windshield wiper squishing in front of me seem horrible but I braved it in the rain. I was just right on time when I arrived. The parents were all gathered and a minute after I came the kids started to sing. Tell me how timely that was. Then we moved tot their classrooms. The kids read us a story, gave us a hand massage and back massage and some food. They also made a sketch of their mom and a book all about their moms. I think they did well. I thought it would be nice to share with you some photos and a part of the kids presentation.

Free Coloring Pages

I love to see my kids around. They seem to be enjoying their spring break. They play and watch tv but I don't want them to just keep watching tv so we went online and printed some coloring pages. My daughter had Spongebob characters and my son printed some dinosaurs. I thought it was really fun. There are so many things to choose from. I think I will have to print some ore for the kids to color.;-)Do you want to let your kids have fun and develop creativity at the same time? Print them some coloring pages for free.

Report Cards

Can you believe it's the end of March? Time flies by so fast. I got my kids report card today and my son's ESL teacher noted that he is an excellent reader. I am really so proud of him. It tickles me every time he reads with so much expression. I think he is trying his best to imitate his teachers. he is friendly, helpful and excellent reader. What more can a mom asked for? he will have his birthday soon and I think I will be giving her a nice gift. My daughter is also doing good with her adjustment in school. She has started to open up, make friends and share some of her ideas. I hope this will continue. I hope she will really be confident of herself.

Free Bunny

It's not Easter yet but we got our free bunny from craigslist. I have searched for free pets since my children wanted to get a pet. I have seen that they are ready to be taught responsibility of taking care of their pet. I wanted to get a pair but my husband wanted only one. My kids were wondering why we did not go to a store when we went to the girl's house where we went to get the bunny. I told because someone is giving it to us for free but we also went to the store to buy the cage, dish, water bottle and food. The kids are loving their pet. They even brought it inside their room because they don't want her to feel that cold and alone downstairs. We named the white bunny "Snowy". It reminded us of the coldest day in Jersey, it was also the day we got her. Thanks Christy for the free bunny!
